Karen Ryan has more than 25 years of experience ‘in the trenches’ talking with and listening to consumers and business customers. Her innate curiosity and burning desire to know ‘why’ to just about anything provided a natural segue into a career in research and communications.Before establishing Ryan Research & Communications, she was Vice President and General Manager of ad agency CCL Milestone. Prior to that she was Manager of Marketing & Communications for Telepix Imaging, an imaging and e-commerce solutions provider to photo retailers and a subsidiary of Gretag Imaging headquartered in Regensdorf, Switzerland. Karen began her marketing career as a Media Planner/Buyer with Target Marketing & Communications but switched gears into market research and headed up Target’s sister company, Market Insights for 12 years.During her extensive research and communications career, Karen has gained a reputation for providing quality work coupled with strategic insight. She is a skilled focus group moderator and excels at knowing the right questions to ask to uncover the insights needed.
Karen has a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing), a Bachelor of Arts (French) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Her academic experience has been augmented with training and skills development in Canada and the U.S. from professional organizations including The Burke Institute (New York), SPSS Inc., Professional Marketing Research Society of Canada (PMRS), Qualitative Research Consultants Association of America (QRCA), Statistics Canada, and Riva Training Institute/Riva Market Research Inc (Maryland).
